Dell Streak 7 Official for T-Mobile: Tegra 2, 4G, Stage UI

The original Streak, with its awkward 5-inch screen, couldn’t get on a winning Streak, but the just-announced Streak 7 looks like it has more potential. Weighing about a pound, the device has an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor under the hood and will connect to T-Mobile’s growing 4G network. Unfortunately, the Streak 7 runs Android 2.2, not the new, more tablet friendly Android 3.0. Dell tries to make up for that shortcoming with its Dell Stage software, which has a tile-based interface.

Later this year, Stage software will let users sync media across multiple Stage-equipped gear, whether it’s a notebook, tablet or smart phone. The Streak 7 also sports two cameras (1.3-MP up front, 5-MP in back), Flash support, and access to T-Mobile TV.T-Mobile mentioned that the Streak 7 will run Zinio software for magazines, and the tablet will have mobile hotspot feature.

We hope the Streak 7 will be upgradeable to Android 3.0, but it’s certainly more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy Tab on T-Mobile. T-Mobile says the Streak 7 will be available in the coming weeks for a very consumer friendly price. Stay tuned for hands-on impressions.
