Wow, It’s Better Than I Thought – Coby Netbook Review

That helped me to make the decision on this netbook. I did a month of research before making my decision. Instead of returning my computer, I just bought a skin, which probably amounted to the same price had I bought the brown netbook but at least I got to choose a really cool design. My Toshiba netbook arrived from Amazon today!

This is my first netbook. I researched a while before I made the decision to make my purchase and I’m happy to be able to say that I made a good decision with this one. The speaker is small, but sounds great to me. The battery has been holding up superbly. Highly recommend for someone who wants an easy travel netbook that’s light, portable, and pretty fast. I wouldn’t buy if you intend to do a lot of work other than web surfing.

Plus it has 3 USB ports. Most netbooks have two. The built-in webcam is OK; good for Skype and the like but not exceptional. The built-in speaker(s) are pretty quiet and the sound is not great (though I wasn’t really expecting it to be and with my really nice headphones, it sounds great). The quality and structure is very nice. I upgraded the ram to 2 GB after using it for about a day. After a while I got to use them from people who own them and discovered I’m not really happy with the virtual keyboard system. I also like to tweak and change stuff, so I decided to think it over. As of May 2011, DDR3 prices have fallen below the price of DDR2. Therefore, Toshiba and other vendors made an update to their motherboards or BIOS to outfit it with the DDR3 for the obvious savings.

Also scrolling with page up/page down while reading a long web page is a pain when you have to press also the FN key! With most netbooks you have to live with the FN key, not in this case, the NB505 keyboard is really practical and comfortable, almost like a full laptop or pc keyboard, even do the position of the keys is not standard, they let you do the work easier and faster. Its capacious HD (250 GB) easily stored several thousand RAW images and HD video files. I no longer had to use the beaten-up (and malware-infected) computers in the Internet cafes, thanks to Wi-Fi.

I use it mainly to watch Netflix in bed. It works great for other functions too. I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but am pleasantly surprised. I was having a Goldilocks moment – my laptop (also a Toshiba and a great machine) is too big to carry around town or on low/no-work travel, and my Android phone, while it does everything but wash the dishes, is a bit small. With iPad there’s a lot of incompatibility issues and requires hassles to download a lot of software just to visit certain sites. For a third of a price of an iPad, I have a very sleek looking gadget that does a lot than I expected.

I cannot understand why this decision was made. home glass repair.
